At Metro Health, participants can be paid for volunteering in clinical research studies. Metro Health’s participant payment system is authorized by Greenphire clincards. Greenphire is a financial management company who support research sites with participant compensation. Over time our MetroHealth Research team has collected some helpful tips for cardholders to make your clincard experience easier.
How do I use my clincard?
- Before you leave the MetroHealth Research Site, the clincard should be registered to you, once the card is registered in your name, it is ready for use.
- In-Store purchases: select Credit if you have not created a pin through Greenphire customer service. Select Debit option if you have created a pin.
- Online purchases: enter clincard information the same way you would a credit card (choose credit card option, UNLESS you have created a PIN; then choose debit)
- Restaurants: *please note that restaurants and fast-food establishments AUTOMATICALLY preauthorize you card for 20% over the bill to insure you have enough funds available on your card. If you do not have enough funds (including the 20% over the bill) the card will decline.
- Gas stations: * please note you MUST take the clincard inside to cashier and ask them to run the card for a specific amount. If you try to use the card at the pump station, the pump will preauthorize your card to up to $100 (this will place a hold on you ability to use the card until the preauthorization is removed, which can take up to a couple of days.
- *** when trying to make a purchase we recommend the clincard must be loaded with the total amount of the purchase you are attempting to make. The card may decline if the full amount of purchase is more then amount of funds on clincard.***
How do I set up a PIN?
**you do not have to set up PIN to use clincard, PIN is only needed for Debit option at purchase**
- To set up a PIN, call Greenphire customer service at 1-866-952-3795 and follow the steps given by the automated voice.
What do I do if my clincard is lost, damaged or stolen?
- If the clincard is lost, stolen or damaged, contact your study site. The MetroHealth researcher site and will replace the card free of charge. This will deactivate the old card and transfer any remaining balance on to the new card.
- If the clincard is lost, stolen or damaged, you can call Greenphire Clincard Customer Service at 1-866-952-3795. They will replace the clincard for you with a fee of $7.00 and the new clincard will arrive in 7-10 business days.
How do I check the balance on my card?
- Call the Greenphire clincard customer service line at 1-866-952-3795 and follow the prompts. The customer service worker will ask you to verify your identity such as your name, date of birth and social security number.
