Kewin King is still doing exactly what he set out to do: turning negatives into positives, pushing through adversity, and living life on his own terms. As an entrepreneur selling cars, he continues to work out as much as possible and stay focused on building the future he envisions.
One of Kewin’s biggest goals over the past five years has been to own a gym. Though he had an opportunity that fell through, he hasn’t let that stop him. He’s shifting his plans, staying resilient, and reminding himself to remain consistent in pursuit of the dream. Owning a gym wouldn’t just be a business for Kewin; it would be the beginning of his legacy – a place to build community, especially among others with disabilities. He dreams of creating a safe environment where people can grow stronger, connect, and support each other in business and in life.
“I want to help people get back up,” Kewin says. He knows the challenges of navigating inaccessible or uncomfortable spaces, like those who feel they have to work out at 4:00 am just to avoid stares or potential “disability emergencies.” His vision is about more than fitness – it’s about belonging.
Over the past few years, Kewin stepped away from the community but is now ready to reconnect. He’s eager to share resources, support others, and have conversations that often just don’t happen with able-bodied friends. “Others with disabilities just get it, and that feels good to me,” he says.

Kewin also continues to practice the power of positive thinking. “When negative thoughts come to my mind, I don’t speak them,” he says. “I change the narrative before even saying it out loud.” Whether it’s overcoming obstacles like delays in essential supplies – or the big dreams he still holds onto – he refuses to give up.
“Don’t let the beginning of this new life dictate your future,” Kewin advises. “Stay strong in the beginning, learn as much as you can about your disability, talk with others, and don’t give up on your dreams. You might have to change your course, but the destination can be the same.”
