We’re wishing a wonderful holiday season to all chapter members, friends, and family of the United Spinal Association of Northeast Ohio! As we turn the page to 2026, our chapter has a lot to celebrate and even more to look forward to.
A Look Back at 2025
We want to extend our deepest appreciation to everyone who attended and supported the United Spinal Association Northeast Ohio Chapter’s 6th Annual “Night of Trivia” Fundraiser! We had a blast celebrating with our chapter members, friends, and family. Your participation, continued support, and generosity have created a strong sense of community for our chapter – along with a lot of fun! Thanks to your support – and to our sponsors, Mobility Works and Miller’s, who ensured this year’s fundraiser would be another success – we’re able to continue advancing our mission to improve the quality of life for individuals living with spinal cord injuries in Northeast Ohio.
We’re especially grateful to all our members and supporters who continue driving our chapter’s mission, providing opportunities for peer-to-peer support and community-building. This year, we launched our Connect-In the Community Meetups program, featuring a series of informal meetups across the Greater Cleveland area, where folks could join to build and strengthen connections with fellow chapter members. We also hosted a Guardians game gathering, another successful adaptive car show, and our annual handcycle picnic (always a crowd favorite), finally wrapping up the year with our 2025 fundraiser.
The turnout and engagement throughout our 2025 events have shown how meaningful the connections and support among our chapter members can be for anyone navigating SCI, including friends, family, and caregivers of those directly impacted.
Looking Ahead to 2026
Building on the success of our 2025 programs and events, we’re planning an exciting lineup of community, recreational, and educational opportunities for the year ahead. Be sure to follow us on Facebook or check the USANEO calendar webpage regularly for updates and registration information.
We’re bringing back the Connect-In the Community Meetups next year—feel free to share your favorite accessible bars or breweries for us to consider as we plan more meetups in 2026. Stay tuned for more details about our 2026 adaptive car show and cookout, our handcycle picnic, and, as always, our annual Night of Trivia Fundraiser. Finally, our Community Event Program continues to provide members with free tickets (for one member and one caregiver) to local outings on a first-come, first-served basis. Past events have included the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Guardians, Playhouse Square, and the Cleveland Orchestra at Blossom Music Center. Stay tuned for more community events in 2026!
As always, we want to make sure these programs reflect your interests and needs. Please take a few minutes to complete our Community Event Program Survey to tell us what types of events you’d like to attend or what would help make participation easier.
Monthly Meetings
We’re still hosting our monthly chapter meetings on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7pm ET. These convenings are a great way to stay connected, learn about available resources for Northeast Ohio’s SCI community, and hear from guest speakers.
We would love to hear your suggestions for topics, speakers, or organizations you’d like to hear from in future meetings – just email us at unitedspinalneo@gmail.com or join one of our upcoming virtual social hours to share your feedback.
You can also catch up on past meeting presentations anytime on our YouTube channel – including discussions on aging with SCI, navigating care team transitions, and more – and find links to upcoming meetings on the events page on our website.
Help Shape Our 2026 Programming!
As we plan ahead, we’d love your input on what events, programs, and resources you’d like to see in 2026.
Whether it’s adaptive recreation, social outings, peer groups, or educational workshops, your feedback helps guide our planning and ensure we’re meeting your needs.
Please feel free to email us at unitedspinalneo@gmail.com to share your ideas.
Get Involved
We’re always looking for passionate members to join our leadership team or volunteer at events. If you’re interested in helping shape the future of the chapter, please reach out – we’d love to have your voice at the table.
Your continued support and participation make everything we do possible. If you know someone who could benefit from USANEO’s programs and resources, encourage them to join for free and become part of our growing community.
Here’s to a fulfilling and connected 2025—and to shaping an even better 2026 together!
