Improving the quality of life with educational and recreational opportunities for individuals with spinal cord injuries.

Are you having a hard time figuring out how to manage changes that happen as you live longer
with SCI? Trouble finding doctors that understand aging with SCI?

Individuals with chronic injuries are invited to join a virtual discussion on Saturday, April 19th
from 1-5pm eastern time with Thomas Jefferson University and MedStar Health – “Oh Lord,
This Aging Cord”: A Peer-Led Discussion on the Health-Related Challenges of Growing
Older with SCI

This session will be led by peers aging with SCI and will feature four expert physicians
addressing key topics such as bladder management, bone health and preservation, blood
pressure control and autonomic dysreflexia, and pain management. A large amount of time will
be spent answering questions from attendees, sharing experiences, and promoting discussions
to potentially inspire research projects that deepen our understanding of the concerns faced by
those aging with SCI.
