MSKTC Resource: Managing Pain after SCI

The Model System Knowledge and Translation Center (MSKTC) is a national center that helps facilitate the knowledge translation process to make research meaningful to those with Spinal Cord Injury, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Burn Injury. Since summer is usually all about physical activity, we wanted to highlight the MSKTC pain management factsheets.

Managing pain will be crucial for maintaining an active lifestyle post-spinal cord injury.  Two major types of pain occur after a spinal cord injury: neuropathic and non-neuropathic pain.  MSKTC offers different factsheets for each type of pain, common management techniques, and podcasts and videos on topics related to pain.

What are some pain management techniques you use? Share with us here or connect with us on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/unitedspinalneo/

We highly recommend you check out these factsheets and their library of factsheets related to spinal cord injury care.  You can check them out at https://msktc.org/sci-topics/managing-pain-after-sci
